After 16 years designing major league sporting events I am moving on into different design realms. Please let me know if I can help your business graphically in branding, promoting or any other graphical way.
It's been an honor to be a part of so many fantastic events. I know there is a lot more out there in regards to trade show design, logos, social media digital design I would like to delve into. Please don't hesitate to contact me for any of your needs. I work remotely from my California office and have very reasonable rates. ~Ian Ransley www.berkeleygraphicdesign.com Stadium Graphics Ian Ransley has designed (not including the many NHL outdoor hockey games).

Yes, design folks, Moss Sports and now events is packing it up and moving from Cali to Chi-town. It's been a great design ride to say the least. I have designed some of the most stellar sporting events in the past decade. I am grateful for all the opportunities and people I have worked with over the years. It's not to say I will never work on a Super Bowl or Winter Classic again but it's time to move on. It's exciting and scary at the same time. There are plenty of design opportunities especially in the San Francisco Bay Area! I've have a fantastic portfolio so let's get out there and kick some design arse!
Find me at: http://www.berkeleygraphicdesign.com This was my 5th NHL outdoor hockey game as design lead of the 2015 game played at Nationals Ballpark in Washington D.C. It seems every year the number of days our design staff has to site vista, concept, present and present again and again to the lea due gets shorter and shorter. When this happens production times get tighter and there is no room for error but with these shorter timelines the chances of error double. WE don't have the time to proof and get physical proves back to us. All in all it was a great design success. I was happy with 99% of it. The scope of the project entails covering the stadium field walls, multi-level fascias, any unapproved sponsors, the outdoor rink, entertainment stags, street banners, entrances, host hotels, a spectator plaza for fans, team suites, private parties and all retail venues. It's a massive design undertaking but we seem to pull it off with a quality design crew. More on the event; The 2015 NHL Winter Classic was an outdoor regular season National Hockey League (NHL) game played on January 1, 2015, at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. The game, the seventh Winter Classic, matched the Chicago Blackhawks against the Washington Capitals; the Capitals won, 3–2, after scoring the go-ahead goal with less than 13 seconds remaining in regulation play. The game garnered an attendance of 42,832, and was televised nationally in the United States on NBC and in Canada on CBC. The 2015 Winter Classic marked the Capitals' second victory in as many outdoor games (the first being in the 2011 NHL Winter Classic), and the Blackhawks' second loss in three outdoor games (the previous two being a loss in the 2009 NHL Winter Classic and a victory in the 2014 NHL Stadium Series). The game is one of two to be held outdoors during the2014–15 NHL season, the other being the 2015 NHL Stadium Series in February. |
